Many thanks to the SEG members and the local Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB work party who spent a wet day clearing overgrown elderberry in Low Carr. We try to clear a section each year thereby creating a mosaic of different ages of understorey throughout the old alder carr. The plants respond to the extra light by growing with more vigour during the next season thereby producing more fruit and vegetation.

Two more work parties are envisage with the AONB partners, one in January 2015 where we replace a bridge and one on March where we repair nestboxes and build new bat boxes which will be erected on an adjacent farm. Other work parties with just Stanny Environment Group members occur regularly throughout the year.
